Overview / 简介:
Ever since its publication in 1845, Hans Christian Andersen's The Ugly Duckling has been a favorite with generations of children around the world. Today's youngsters will be equally moved by the hapless ugly duckling, who, ridiculed and rejected by all, suffers terrible hardships. And they will celebrate along with him when he finally emerges triumphant as the most beautiful swan of all! Bernadette Watts's detailed illustrations chronicle the bittersweet story with charm and poignancy. Perfect for institutional, trade and gift accounts.

Foreign Customer Review / 国外客户评价:
This book was good. It made me sad when the other ducks thought he was a turkey and when the children didn't like him. Iliked the part when he turned into a swan and got to swim with other swans. I think other kids will like to read this book.

Andersen began writing plays and poetry before he left for Copenhagen, but it was not until 1835 that he published the first of the fairytales that would bring him international renown. Since then, his over 200 fairytales have enjoyed undiminished popularity, providing the basis for favorite American interpretations such as Disney's The Little Mermaid.
