I will agree that the narrative for this book wasn't quite like the first, but I had to give it 4 stars because my toddler adored this one. He loves anything that has to do with the moon, so the search for the moon was very exciting for him, and he got so excited when the moon finally appeared. He also enjoyed pointing out the different objects along the way and how the dog "changed color." I found that though this book wasn't as in depth with the text part of the story, it made up for it in the illustrations by giving my 3 year old more to explore on his own. We talked about every page, what was on the page, the colors in the book, etc.
